Chester Karlson is a sailor from Vaslika, a town in the south of Linkana. He delivers goods around the region.
The day had finally come, where he sets off on his longest journey yet; to the capital of the north islands. He gives his farewells to his wife and daughter, who pray for his safety. Chester is accompanied by his friend; Dante, and everything is going well.
They've made it half way there, but they are met with disaster. An unforgiving storm takes it's toll on them. Chester wakes up on a beach, none of the crew in sight, but doesn't necessarily mean none of them made it. He is acquainted with a young flamboyant lady. She offers to help him, and Chester can't possibly turn it down. His family are waiting for him to come home, after all. But, that raises the question, will he ever come home?
If you enjoy games focuses on pretty much everything other than battles, this game might just be for you. It still has battles though. I personally dont mind relationships in anime, but in games i rather it be left out. Its fine if its unrelated to your characters(some npcs in a town or something) but when playing as a character i feels really.pointless to build a fictional bond with a character lol.
I mean true all games ares fictional your not doing w/e the character is doing either way but. Id rather do fictional adventurous things i couldn't do in real life personally:3 i suppose it would be fine in game form if it was a story and not a choice,if you didn't have to earn points or any of that nonsense. But if people do enjoy that go ahead:3 its just not for me. Also why hiatus?didn't notice a blog or anything. Just lack the time or manpower to complete the task?:3 or something deepa:3. Hiya, is there a way to get DXGL to work with this? I have windows 8 and the fullscreen is just so damn slow it's not unplayable but it feels very sluggish.
![]() ![]()
The last game I tried was LISA and that seemed to work great with it, I've tried the same routine to get DXGL to work on this one and it doesn't seem to have any effect. If anyone could help with this i'd appreciate it, or perhaps some other means to get fullscreen, I tried to get a script to work but I think I'm doing it wrong, I really have no idea what I'm doing to be honest when it comes to scripting. Thanks, looking forward to playing it.

That being said however it is well known that the encryption algorithims have been discovered and I know for a fact there are tools for decrypting/extacting the files and making them editable again.
So if you plan to market your game I'd suggest getting a seperate encryption system as well. Originally posted by:Exporting the game to a playable state basically. Its the only way games can be uploaded to sites and played by other people. This isn't exactly true.

A long time ago, a group of cultist called the Helliosans suddently disappeared from the surface of the world, no trace of their existences could be found. As time passed, the cult existence vanished from the memory of most. But Lucien remembers.
Now that the world is to the brink of a conflict, they returned. Where most are afraid of the wrath of Hellios, Lucien has no fear. It is time once again, to discover what is written. You play as Elysys, a young elf girl that got kidnapped by the Helliosans for unknown reasons, as you manage to escape, you will need to find your path through space and time to return back home. Elysys is an elf, since she got kinnaped, she is kinda scared to follow Lucien as they try to escape but, she knows she dosen't have a choice. Lucien is vampire, no much is known about him but, the others vampires says tghat he use a special magic that the others cannot use and his generally an emotionless individual but still help others. Hellios is a god whorshiped by a cult, it is said that he represent the 'lantern in Hell' and that his ideology are based on that knwledge is power.

The cult however, gather some very questionnable individuals. During your escape, you will have to use some 'weapons' that you will find along the way through space and time, they are: The household broom: This is a regular broom that have no enchantements. Atk: 10 Acc: 20. The gardener's shovel: The shovel is the weapon that does the most damage but have reduced accuracy. Atk: 20 Acc: 10 The kitchen knife: This the smallest weapons, it does little damage and accuracy.

It was kinda interesting, but the story completely lost me.it felt like you tried to condense about 30-40 hours worth of story into a 30 minute game, it was just massive twist after massive twist and I could barely follow what was going on after the halfway point. Battles also felt kind of pointless since you get nothing from them (aside from daggers from the first one) and all you can do is attack, no healing, no different attacks (aside from daggers in second one), no strategy, nothing. They're basically just DPS races.
Graphically, it's impressive, and it's always nice to see RPGM games with these truly unique graphical styles, but everything else about it is poorly done. It felt more like an experiment to test various systems, which is fine, but the story goes way, way too deep for that sort of thing, and is way too complex for such a short game. The game would benefit greatly from longer length, more battles, and more gameplay elements, like levels, items, stats, etc, as well as spacing out the big plot twists more, or saving some of them for the sequel(s) you seem to plan on making judging from the cliffhanger ending. Author=IAmJakeSauvage I thought the graphics were cool - they remind me of the old MMORPG Fairyland. I'll say that despite the fact that the translation was way off it was pretty interesting at first - but going through the same maps over and over, and the story growing increasingly less easy to comprehend as the game progressed led me to put it down. Hi everyone, I’ve been learning how to program in Java and Actionscript lately, and because these are what are called “object-oriented” programming languages, understanding how they function has helped me a whole lot with understanding RGSS2, the programming framework that RMVX uses. After going through RMVX tonight, I finally started getting a good grasp on how RGSS2 works, so I’ll be posting some basic scripting tutorials in the near future. In the meantime, here’s a very, very simple script on how to use a different font for your game’s text that I got from TheMize18’s on YouTube (and he credits it to the community on, which is listed on the left-hand side of this blog, actually).
Okay, now just about everybody out there making an RMVX/RMXP game is interested in free graphics. Here are some sites I check when I need free tilesets and sprite sheets:: The content on First Seed is all royalty-free, which means it can be used even in commercial projects. The only rule about usage is that you can’t post content from the site on your own or try to re-sell the graphics on your own site or something.: Mack is a Japanese pixel artist who makes free graphics for RMVX (and he made a lot of stuff for RMXP a while back) that you can use under the same terms as First Seed Material resources (at least as far as the blog translation of the license on his site goes).: This site allows you to create custom “overworld” and “battler” sprites for RMK 2003. If you’re making your own sprites, it’s also not a bad quick reference for various animation poses.: This Japanese site has a great tool that allows you to mix and match parts (ala Charas Project) for sprites. The sprites are designed for use in RMVX.: This is the blog for Enterbrain’s RPG Maker and Action Game Maker products.
From time to time they have great tileset and sprite art (go through the archives; use to translate the site if you’re having trouble navigating) that you can download. Recently, they’ve had a series of “modern Japanese” furniture and other tiles (both school and “domestic/house” tiles) that are pretty cool. Anyway, I’ll post some links to these sites in my blogroll, but definitely check them out when you get a chance. I found some great robot sprites in the Famitsu “Tsukuru” Blog’s post archives. For those of us who do plan to create our own sprites, tilesets and backgrounds, these resources are great for prototyping purposes and also allow you to start working on your design or demo right away rather than spend months creating graphics and nothing else.

Wow, been a while since I posted anything. I’ve actually been really busy with a lot of other stuff but am getting a few comments on here (surprisingly). Anyway, one commenter didn’t like my mapping example (which he described entertainingly, despite him using a cliche, as “mapping fail”. I will totally admit that I did not create a complete map that I would use in a game, by any stretch of the imagination.
That was just a basic tutorial that someone on a forum asked me to do about a year ago (i.e. How to make a schoolhouse). I’ll post one of my more recent maps later today as an example of a more complete map, though I’m still not going to claim it’s “awesome.” Also, the commenter said RMXP is a better program. Eh, I was using the default RTP graphics for RMVX, and although that program has its flaws, I’ve seen people do some pretty interesting things with it by making their own custom graphics.
I have considered getting RMXP because it seems to have fewer tileset restrictions, but I still like RMVX. You just need to make custom resources for it rather than use the RTP. For example, check out Oceans Dream’s new RMVX project,. Graphics are all custom, and to avoid the tileset limitation in RMVX, he’s using parallaxes. He’s also an experienced spriter and artist (I highly recommend reading his blog).
Speaking of resources for your games, I’ll be posting some new sources for free resources out there later today, so stay tuned. Yeah, it’s been a while since I updated this blog. The biggest issue I’ve had with RMVX is that it’s got a pretty severe number of limitations, and I’m not just talking about it being only able to design RPGs. For example, one of the big issues with RMVX that I’ve run into so far is the serious limitation on tilesets.
Although the five tabs available seem like they would offer enough diversity in content, I’ve found myself wishing that I had space to add extra features, for example alternate types of world map tiles that could best represent diverse RPG settings. For example, if I want to make a desert-themed area, I’ve only got a few tile types to work with. Adding variations on existing tiles to fit this format is also problematic because TileE is so limited. One idea I did have was to create maps in a graphic design program with whatever tiles I need and then upload the maps into the database as Graphics/Parallaxes (under the Tools menu, Resource Manager file). I have yet to try this, though in one of the demos I saw for the Japanese version of this program, the entire background was an image. Here is an example of what I mean: So, the next step is for me to try this out and see how it goes. Due to the lack of road tiles that are of appropriate size for a world map in RMVX, I took it upon myself to seriously modify (okay, by the end, I was just using the color palette and that was about it) the existing grassland road tile into a full set of road pieces.
I created half-size roads, 1/4-size roads and a single 1/8-size road set. I’ve included the 1/4- and 1/8-size roads in a single template. Due to my beginner’s level spriting skills, this took me a while to do. Here are the roads, though, in all their pixellated glory. Click on the pic for the full-size version. Feel free to use this for personal projects. If you want to use this for a commercial project, I ask that you credit me (Ceric) and return the favor and make something (within reason, of course) that I could use for a commercial project.
Hopefully some people other than me will get some use out of this. I will be updating this set as time goes on. This is just the first incarnation of my road set. I plan to add a stone-colored road set (like the Roman roads, kinda sorta) and possibly roads for other types of terrain, such as desert and snow. If you have any comments or spriting suggestions/advice for me, feel free to comment.
Since a poster on asked about mapping, I decided to put up this mapping tutorial. This is a basic schoolhouse.
I did grab some roof tiles from to make this map. Sadly, the default roofing tiles that come with RPG Maker VX are somewhat lacking, so to get the visual effect I wanted, I didn’t have much choice, I felt. It’s possible to build a decent-looking building with the default tiles, it’s just going to be kinda square. For rounded edges and different perspectives, you really need to either make your own custom tiles or download some resources from a site that features tilesets. So, without further ado, here’s how to design a schoolhouse in 7 easy steps (with pics). I’m kicking off the actual design process with some of RPG Maker VX’s basic concepts. Everybody who has ever played a console RPG from the 1990s is used to the obligatory opening sequence, where the game introduces the player to the main characters, backstory and current events.
RPG Maker 2003
Creating a complete opening sequence is a much longer process, and I’m going to get to it. But before I can tackle that topic, I need to provide a very basic example that a user of RPG Maker VX can build on to create longer, more complicated introductory and cut scenes.
This basic example explains how to create a “Character Naming” Event that allows the player to name his or her main character. By the way, I’m bolding words that appear for the first time that are actual commands used in RPG Maker VX. FYI, this first post covers a whole lot about using the RPG Maker VX interface. If you’re already familiar with it, what Events are and how Switches and Self Switches work, you might just want to skip to the very end of this post and read the summary.
If you have no idea what you’re doing and want to learn the basics, keep reading. Before I jump straight into an actual example, here’s a little bit about why I’m making an old-school console-style RPG. I was a kid in the 1980s and a teenager in the 1990s (which makes me old) and my first console RPG was Dragon Warrior for the NES. That was my first foray into console and computer RPGs, and although Dragon Warrior would probably seem simplistic and dated if I played it again now, I have fond memories of sitting in my parents’ living room for hours on end, looking for Erdrick’s shield, sword and armor so I could beat the crap out of the evil Dragonlord. From there, the next milestone RPG for me was Final Fantasy.
Yes, the first one in the series, not FF2 for the Super NES or anything after that. It was AWESOME by comparison to Dragon Warrior. I made party configuration after party configuration, and even though I played that game for at least a couple of months, I eventually moved on to other RPGs. The next RPG I really enjoyed was Final Fantasy 2, and it was one of the first console RPGs that I remember having a pretty intricate story. Although the dialogue seems terrible to me now, it really immersed me in that world and made me care about the characters in the game (and there were a lot of them now).
Since then, I’ve played probably about a hundred different console RPGs on various systems, from the NES and Super NES to the Playstation and PC. I own a Nintendo DS and continue to play new games that remind me of those original console RPGs I started playing almost 20 years ago.
So, now that I’ve found RPG Maker VX, I’m having a great time designing, and building, my own RPG. I’m a world-builder and storyteller at heart. I’ve written my own prose fiction, taken screenwriting and novel writing classes and have also written a script for a graphic novel series for a class at UCLA.
I started playing tabletop RPGs when I was a teenager (it was Ad&D 1st edition in 5th grade) and became interested in creating my own worlds to set stories in. Because of my interest in interactive entertainment (I started playing video games when I was 4), I can combine all of these elements, storytelling, world building and gaming, into a single project using RPG Maker VX. Hence, I’m making my own game. I’ll post screen captures of my progress on the game in future posts, and also write up my thoughts on the design process and my approach to design.
For now, I’ll move on to examples and the basics of using RPG Maker VX. I should have a completed example up shortly, specifically about creating Events in the game, so check back here from time to time. I’ll do my best to update this blog twice a week, at the very least.
For really long posts, it might mean I continually update the post and eventually finish it. Anyway, keep on reading, and I hope you enjoy my future posts.
From Make your RPG with simple operation. 'RPG Maker VX' is a software that enables you to create your original role playing game without any special knowledge. The process is very simple.
Rpg Maker Vx Game
First, create a map which becomes the stage of your adventure. Secondly, setup the hero, monsters, items, magic, all the things you need to play the RPG. Finally you can complete your very own RPG by creating the events and placing them around the map.
